It seems young to most, old to some... nothing to me.
After I turned 21, age no longer mattered. As far as I'm concerned, every birthday is my 21st birthday.
What better way to spend my 21st than in wine country. Sister took me on a vineyard tour today. We had a blast! I will admit I was slightly concerned that I would be drinking alone while she stood around, but we managed to find some varietals that suited her palate... hence the 3 bottles of almond sparkling wine currently in her fridge... and my empty hands. (Stupid Massachusetts/Airline laws).
The day flew by, but not without plenty of pleasant surprises. I got wishes from all the girlz, the family, the boyfriend (yes fine I will finally admit we are bf/gf). I also received unexpected wishes from old college, high school and childhood friends with whom I haven't spoken in years.
I wasn't expecting much. In fact, I'm pretty thankful for what I get. So when we get back to my sister's apartment and there are 2 dozen purple roses for me from RedSox, I can't help but keep this shit-eating grin on my face for hours to come.
I've got a great life. At times, incredible stressful (ahem, boards last Friday)... but overall worth it.
I used to say (and will continue saying) that my only goal in life is to turn 21. For many years to come, I hope my 21st continues to be as great as it was today.
